Touch what?

Yes, I am now a member of a co-ed Touch Rugby team. Our first games were on Wednesday.

Why touch rugby?

I finally found some team sports in Abu Dhabi and signed up to play Ultimate. That fell through (for the second time) so I decided to sign up for something new and different.

Had you ever played before?

No

Had you ever thrown a rugby ball before Wednesday?

I think maybe once. Thankfully, some of the other players were more than happy to give me tips before the games.

Are you in any kind of shape to play?

Absolutely not (am quite stiff)

What is it like?

Fast and fun. Still not really sure what is happening... :)

Other stuff?

We are a small team. I was the only lady on Wednesday and you must have 1 woman on the field at all times. For my ultimate friends out there the first game was like playing goalti with no subs. Ugh. It got better

Why do you have a black eye?

On the way to Rugby I was trying to fix a latch our front gate and open it at the same time. Something stuck and i got the door handle right below the eye, jumped back and smacked my head against the wall. I showed up to my first rugby night with a swollen, blackening eye and a sore head. Here is my eye a few days later

We moved. Yippeeee. And it only took them a week to change our internet. We are very happy with the new place.

Happy Halloween!

I wanted to dress Neva up this year for Halloween. I am not sure why - just had to. It was surprising that I had a couple of choices for outfits. Amazing how the stores cater to the expats out here.

When I saw this outfit and knew it was the one. Our little lioness.

We had a trial run at home to see if she would go for it. Yup, a little hard getting her into it but she was a-ok and ran around the house for a bit with it on.

That afternoon we went and visited a community where some of my friends live (and where we are moving in a few weeks, yay).

One house and we were done. Neva just wanted to go inside and play. Our social little girl. :)

We spent the rest of the afternoon wandering around and seeing some of the sights in the community.
