What a place!  We had such a great holiday with the Wrigs. We visited Petra, Aqaba (with Wadi Rum), and the Dead Sea.

Our camera crapped out after Petra - grrr. I will post more pictures of the other places when I steal some pictures from the Wrigs.

Easter Weekend

We spent the day in Old Town, which is right below the Burj Khalifa. We had a great day with our wonderful friends and then said a very sad farewell. :(  They are travelling for a few months and then making Australia their new home. One more reason to go back to Sydney...

Zoo

We went to the Al Ain zoo on the weekend. Neva had a great time running around but she especially loved riding the Zebra train.

I also have to include some pictures showing what happens to her gorgeous locks when we take out the pony tails. Bruce calls it the "Mugatu" look.

Sandstorms suck

We have had quite a few days of sandstorms. They make a mess out of everything. Our stuff outside is a disaster and the sand gets in the windows and under the doors and provides a lovely dusting inside as well.

Here is what it is like to drive when the sand is flying.

When the sandstorms ended and the rains began. You would think that rain is a good thing. Yes and no. It brings down the sand but it causes a lot of other problems due to crap drainage.

This picture is just out our back gate to the community. That yellow and white thing is a speed bump.

The rain also helps to solidify the mess that the sand made.

Luckily we have a stellar clean up crew.

Argh

It would seem that Neva shares a particular trait with certain members of my family (you know who you are).
