Hands

Our little munchkin has found her hands, well, one of them.  She’ll stare at her right hand, and slowly work it up her chest until her tongue can reach it.  She is very happy to sit in her seat and munch away on her knuckles.  It’s amazing the amount of drool she can produce.   She almost prefers her knuckles to her soother.  This has provided yet another challenge in the sleep battle, once her hands brush by her face, she’ll work on those knuckles until she is awake.

New Wheels

Living in Dubai, there are all kinds of fancy wheels on the road.  Well, Andrea and I finally broke down and got ourselves a new ride.  We’ve been slumming it, by Dubai standards, with a rental CRV for far too long.  Prices are pretty decent in Dubai, so you can afford to get the ‘almost’ dream ride!  We went with a cool little cruiser, rear wheel drive, with some retro lines.  It has a nice flat black finish, but in the end I think it was the rims that sold it for us.  It certainly sticks to the road by the sheer weight of it, and kind of handles like a refrigerator, but in Dubai, it’s how you look….the concept of functionality has not made it into the Middle East yet.  Have a look below…….still trying to figure out where the baby seat goes.

Critters

Living in an oasis in the middle of the desert, we get different kinds of critters that find their way into our villa.  We have found a few of these little guys over the past few months.  No photos of the jumping spiders yet.

A Little Story: How Times Have Changed

Last night I was totally exhausted and on my way to bed when Bruce told me he had to pop out to run a few errands. Thinking it was rediculously late I asked where he was going "at this time of night?"
He smiled and told me it was 7:45.

Party Girl

We have ourselves a party girl. She doesn't seem to want anything to do with sleep - in the daytime anyway. She will either cry and fuss when you are trying to put her down for a nap or just keep looking at you with a big smile. My favourite is when she sleeps for 10 minutes and then wakes up thinking she has had her rest. If you try and put her back to sleep she will smile, coo and talk to you like it is play time again - TURKEY. So adorable and frustrating at the same time.

On that note I have to apologize for my lack of posts. As soon as I can spend more time sitting at the computer it will be a regular post-o-rama. Also lack of pictures on this one as I am using Bruce's computer.

6 Weeks and Smiles

We have hit our 6 week mark. There have certainly been some bumps along the way but after 5 or 6 weeks you feel much much better. It certainly helps that Neva is a happy baby . We were so fortunate to have both sets of grandparents here. Gindls left a few days ago and Laughlins are here for another week. Again, so fortunate to have all of this help and Neva loves all of the love and attention she is getting
